Brussels

The capital city of Belgium, Brussels is considered the heart and the de facto capital of the European Union, and is home to many of the significant institutions of the EU. It is also the site of the headquarters of NATO, one of the most important international institutions of the world. Apart from its critical role in global politics, Brussels is a great city to experience the mouthwatering and divine Belgian cuisine, one of the world’s most coveted gastronomical adventures.

Given its heavy significance in the European Union, Brussels serves as a melting pot for European cultures. While historically a Dutch-speaking commune, it has evolved into a city which recognises French, German and Dutch as the official languages of the people. The city is also home to some amazing Gothic Architecture, most prominently the Grand Palace of Brussels, a massive edifice and Brussel’s most iconic landmark. The city is also the comic strip capital, with colourful murals of this art form colouring the city all over. When it comes to food, no city in Europe can compete with Brussels, with Belgian waffles, chocolates, and beer being world-famous for its unbeatable taste and appeal. The vegetable Brussels Sprout is believed to originate from the city, as is the iconic fast food French Fries, though this is still under dispute between Belgium and France. Regardless, Brussels promises to take you on a culinary, cultural and colourful journey from the moment you set foot on her soil.
